Apple to unveil iPad 3 on March 7?

Apple has sent out invites for an event next week at which the company is expected to announce the next iPad. The event has a tagline ‘We have something you really have to see. And Touch” will take place at the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts in San Fransisco at 10 am, local time (6pm, UK time), next week. Apple has not confirmed what will they announce at the event but everybody is guessing its the iPad 3 as prices of iPad 2 on websites are going down which hints of a new version.  The image on the invitation, which shows a finger tapping an iPad, appears to suggest that the rumours are correct. The company typically updates its key products annually and the iPad 2 was announced in March last year. It went on sale a couple of weeks after the announcement. It is possible that Apple will also use the event to announce an improved Apple TV, possibly with support for full 1080p high definition video. The current model supports only 720 HD.

Update: I just read that the iPad 3 might not have a home button (via CNET).
